Spring into Summer fashion 2020: 5 top trends to shop for.
New York, London, Paris and Milan have spoken and older women love what they’re saying!

We’ve looked at what’s trending on the catwalks for the sunny days right ahead, and were delighted to see how many classics have returned, refreshed, revamped and ready for the wardrobes of the 40+, who have so often been pushed aside in favor of youth-focused fashion. Here are our favorites, see if you agree:

A vibrantly versatile summer staple that looks as good at a picnic as it does at the office. Look for ice-cream pastels (so flattering to more mature complexions), crazy pinstripes and petite pleats.  Choose indigo denim for a must-have mainstay, and a crisp, white, oversized edition for a classic wardrobe staple.

 Shirt Dress

It’s said that a woman’s neck shows her age before her face does – so we really love the season’s go-to ‘Little Women’ dress: high-collared and deceptively modest, with billowing sleeves. The look works best in broderie anglaise (open cut-out embroidery on fine white cotton or linen). Floral and animal prints are trending too.

Victorian Neckline

Culotte-cut long in the leg to sweep over the knees (another dreaded age giveaway) and topped with long-line blazers, these monochromatic suits gracefully bridge the gap between boardroom elegance and casual glamour. Wear with sneakers, strappy sandals, ballet pumps or heeled courts – use the shoe to match the occasion.

Long Shorts Suite

Forget granny’s advice about only mixing prints with plains – 2020 fashion flies in the face of old school rules! Be warned though, we’re not talking Christmas tree or bag lady here: work with matching or complementary color palettes, be very cautious with neons and brights, and match the motif size to your physical build (small build = smaller print).

We’re not talking hippy dippy woven beads or delicate wispy chains here: in 2020, it’s all about solid, sophisticated statement hardware. Chunky gold and silver links, semi-precious stones,  crystals and even pearls are on best-dressed ankles everywhere – and built into the season’s favorite footwear for instant, ageless chic.
